Curtiss P-40C Chino by shelbs2 Curtiss P-40C Chino by shelbs2
I think this had to be my favorite aircraft at the Planes of Fame show (even though it was static display only). A beautifully polished Curtiss P-40C Tomahawk. I hope they leave her painted like that.

I have been modeling plastic aircraft for years and have never seen a photo of the P-40 in natural metal as clear as this.  In fact it took a minute to realize it was not a YP- or P-40.  Nice pic!

Agreed. If they ever get bored of repeating the same scheme and insignia over and over again, I wish they repainted some P-40 in 112nd RAF sq. markings... Say, a Tomahawk like this as Clive "killer" Caldwell´s AK658/ "GA-X" Tomahawk, or even some P-40E as Caldwell´s later AK772/ "GA-Y" Kittyhawk, or as Neville´s Duke AK578/ "GA-V" Kittyhawk...

Or even Red Airforce VVS.
Anything different would be welcome.

I COULD HAVE BEEN THEEEEERE D8 seriously, my family went on Sunday, I knew the temperature wasn't going to be bad at all but I didn't go because I had a misunderstanding that we couldn't afford admission for that many people...yeah...turns out I was wrong and I could have gone o___O...

anyways...this is about one of the most gorgeous airplanes I've ever seen, I love polished metal birds XD hope you had a great time :)

I've heard rumours on a forum that this apparently belongs to the Fighter Collection. No idea if this is true though. It's beautiful though.

As I said I have no idea if that is even true. All I know is that I was reading a forum trying to get information on it after seeing a photo of it at the show. And somebody apparently in the know said it belongs to TFC. Strange if it does as they do already have the P-40B. But then he also has the Hawk 75, P-40F and P-47G so Stephen Grey does love his Curtiss aircraft. Also if it does happen to be true there is also the possibility that they own it purely to sell it on for prophet. They did similar with a P-38 a few years back.

This seems to confirm that it is indeed owned by Stephen Grey and the Fighter Collection. [link]
