This looks like it's about 3 feet off the ground and that dark patch is its shadow.

Well, that's a change. Used to be that aggressor a/c were all small, slow Skyhawks and F-5's.

they use all sorts of stuff. Air Force uses F-15s and F-16s. Navy uses F-16s, F-5s, and F-18s and while they were in service, a few F-14s
