Hard to believe this particular plane spent over fifty years buried under ice.

Here she is flying [link]

Make the Pilgrimage to the Reno Air Races next year. I'm pretty sure, she's a regular (and there's tons of other cool stuff to oggle). You also get the added benefit of seeing prop driven aircraft exceed 500mph.

When my buddy and I did it, we were taking care of something we said we'd do in high school. Of course by 2008 I was now in Toronto and he still in BC but it turned into an epic road trip for me on my motorcycle and a cool one for he on his.

It's well worth it and Reno is pretty cheap to stay in. We found a hotel on the back road into Stead field that was like two fifty for the week and it was nice and clean.

Reno itself was, well Reno but the people are friendly and there's tons of aircraft stuff going on all over. Getting a pit pass is a must.
