Luftwaffe Birds Taxi by shelbs2 Luftwaffe Birds Taxi by shelbs2
Two Luftwaffe legends taxiing to the runway. Focke Wulf Fw-190A-5, the only original Fw-190 flying with the original BMW801 radial, and Messerschmitt Bf-109E-3, a real Battle of France/Britain veteran.

FHC Fly Day, Paine Field (KPAE)

If only the Me-262 were here it would be the PERFECT shot. excepting one thing....what's up with the FW paint scheme? I don't recall them ever using that color brown......

yeah I was really hoping that would fly too, the Storch was supposed to as well, but they couldn't get another pilot for it (odd reason if you ask me...)

and actually that was a field applied scheme used on the eastern front. same colors this aircraft wore when it saw service there (i thought it looked wired too, should've painted it like their Dora but oh well)

lol I would've gladly volunteered too xD

and well, it was used quite a good deal, especially by ground attack units like this aircraft was from, early in the conflict to around 43 or so

If the word 'elequent' can be attributed to a machine, the BF-109 in all its variants, is. A combination of pleasing lines and graceful curves.

On the obverse is the FW-190. While not an unattractive design, you have no doubts this machine means all business. Blunt, hard edged, with an aura of aggression sitting in the hangar.

Of course being German, on both sides of the family, I've been told I display a terrible favoritisim. ;-)

Beautiful picture, thanks for sharing and I wish I'd been there.
