Would you recommend a MN for a 1st time shooter? I'm not an expert on it, but a friend of mine wants a MN over a 22lr.

I remember shooting from this rifle - i love the bolt-action on this rifle, and no matter how much time passes,it will ALWAYS be a legend among bolt-action rifles

lucky, I can't even find a curved bolt for my mosin nagant, I have the PU scope and rifle, but I still need to either find a gun smith or a nagant with the scope mount

Lucky, over here in britain we have alot of firearm restrictions, even tho i could get a rifle licence finding a fuctional MN91-30 over here is going to be hard, although deactivated ones are avaliable to anyone over 18, found one for 130 in fact, just wish i had the money xD

Do you use Surplus 7.62x54R? I know it's very corrosive, but the other type is very expensive... Several shops near here sell 20 round boxes for 30 bucks.

Lucky! I'm looking to maybe get one of these soon (I have the 1944 carbine version, love it to death).

Friend: "Dude, my M4 can outgun your mosin any day of the week."
Me: "Yeah, but mine out-ranges yours, and IIIa bodyarmor is to my gun as butter is to a knife. M4 can't say that."
Friend: "Yeah, well... Mine's newer!"
lol, love these rifles

it sure is. I picked her up for a great price, the rifle was in excellent condition, I found many interesting markings on my rifle and brass on the handguard. not a bad pick for my first rifle!

I'm looking to get either a 91/30 or an M/28.

I've found a few places near where I live that sell them so I'm going to hopefully be getting one soon (going to try to take up target shooting).

My favorite bolt-action rifle.
What a useful weapon that was back in WWII.

Nice! I can see the bolt is bent down - an ergonomic plus. Always thought it was weird how the scopes were 5x more than the guns cost XD

I hope to get some kind of low power scope for my M59/66
